Guesthouse photographer Johannesburg, Pretoria, Gauteng and surroundings. We recently traveled to the picturesque farming town of Frankfort in the Northern Free State. Linkview Home is a four star graded Frankfort guesthouse exhibiting character, old world charm and a warm welcome!

The Free State is rather low on the list when it comes to popular holiday destinations. As a result, farming towns are peaceful hideaways. Perfect for those seeking an off the beaten track experience.

Linkview Home offers solitude and a home away from home. The newly renovated historic house dates from 1915. Linkview Home is not ‘just another’ guesthouse! It is a unique experience amidst tall trees, clean streets and sandstone houses. At the right of the front entrance you will find a coffee shop filled with great quality antiques, vintage collectables, art and decor. At the left of the wheelchair friendly front door is a guesthouse with three en-suite rooms. Bed & Breakfast guests enjoy a delicious breakfast during the morning. Most important to note is that the coffee shop serves the best coffee in town! The cappuccinos poured by professional baristas are especially noteworthy. They use Origin coffee beans and a Carimali coffee machine from Italy.

The coffee shop serves home baked cakes, quiches and light lunches. Some of the baked goods and traditional sweets are lovingly made by local “tannies” said to use secret recipes.

We attended a Valentine’s dinner during our stay where they served locally sourced cheeses and biltong soup. Try their homemade ice tea!

Linkview Home Frankfort Guesthouse

The house is situated on Mark Street overlooking the well-known Princess Street. We stayed in Room 2 that is out of sight and overlooks the garden. There are schools, hospitals and restaurants nearby. While it may be true that the Free State roads are not the best, a visit to small towns are worth the effort. Be sure to visit Free State gems such as Rosendal and Clarens while in Frankfort. For example, Rosendal is only two hours away from Frankfort.

We understand what an interior shot requires. Great angles, straight walls, and correct lighting make a massive difference to the shot. It also helps to do different angles in the same room – we love shooting to corners as it usually creates beautiful lines in the composition. Shooting wide angles makes the room feel bigger and creates breathing space. No one wants to feel claustrophobic looking at your interior photographs. Did you know that print magazines normally require vertical images? We recommend shooting horizontal images for web images. The use of ambient light creates stunning moods. Mixed with well placed studio lights creates the perfect atmosphere.
