The Gearing for Growth seminars is a series of four flagship executive seminars that enable the sharing of intellectual capital. It involves proposing best practice ideas and insights to support renewed growth of the South African economy. Poverty, inequality, and unemployment are key challenges in the economy. However, there is still disagreement surrounding the necessary steps that need to be taken to rectify these issues.

About the Panel
Dr Martyn Davies heads Deloitte Africa’s Automotive Sector business and is a member of the Deloitte global Firm’s Insight Advisory Group, as well as the Deloitte Economics team. He is a trusted advisor to executives at a large array of multinational firms and numerous governments.
Dr Dieter Veldsman is a scientist-practitioner with extensive experience in organisational development. He is involved in academic research, lecturing and the application of work psychology in practice. Consulting across various domains within human capital.
Sabine Dall’Omo career spans for 25 years at Siemens. In 1998, Sabine becomes Commercial Manager within Siemens’ Automation & Drives business, first at Siemens Germany for just over three years, and then at Siemens in Shanghai, China. In May 2004, Sabine made the move to South Africa as Head of Performance Controlling for Siemens Southern Africa. She is currently the CEO of Southern & Eastern Africa.
Charissa Hector is Director: Human Resources at BMW Group South Africa. The highlight of her career includes her role that enhances a competitive wage structure and benefits for the automotive industry’s hourly paid workers. Charissa represented BMW South Africa in these negotiations that see the redirection of provisions towards increased access for employees to housing at the various manufacturing plants.
